“The Russian Interior Minister [Kolokoltsev] and the Tatarstan Republic’s President Rustam Minnikhanov inspected the temporary base of the composite police detachment, where the attached employees will stay,” the ministry said in a statement published on its official website.

According to the statement, Kolokoltsev and Minnikhanov also familiarized themselves with the work of the operational center at the Kazan Arena.

The FIFA World Cup will be held in 11 cities across Russia from June 14 till July 15, with the 45,000-seater Kazan Arena set to host six matches, including a quarter-final.
