MOSCOW, May 31 (Sputnik) - Russian Sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov said Thursday that he favored the French national team at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
"I like France's national team as there are many young players, the team is cheerful. I think they will surprise everyone," Kolobkov said in an interview aired by the Russkoye Radio station.
Former champions France, who secured their only World Cup title in 1998, will face Australia, Peru and Denmark in Group C at the 2018 World Cup, which takes place in Russia from June 14 to July 15.
