MOSCOW, June 13 (Sputnik) - Russian broadcaster Channel One will use ultra-high definition 4K broadcasting resolution for the first time ever in Russia during the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup, the channel's public relations department said on Wednesday.
"Channel One offers its viewers something special during the 2018 FIFA World Cup: for a whole month, starting from June 14, 2018, Channel One will broadcast in unmatched quality, in the ultra-high definition 4K resolution," the department said.
All the World Cup matches will be broadcast with the surround sound technology Dolby Atmos.
Russia will host its first-ever FIFA World Cup from June 14 to July 15, with the games set to be held in a total of 11 cities.
