SAMARA, June 7 (Sputnik) - Samara's Kurumoch International Airport will operate around 300 additional flights during this summer's FIFA World Cup, the airport's press service said Thursday.
"Kurumoch international airport is preparing to operate about 300 additional flights during the 2018 FIFA World Cup," the press service said in a statement.
According to the statement, 126 of the additional flights will be domestic, while the others will be international and will include airplanes carrying national football teams, the FIFA management and organized fan groups.
Samara's airport will welcome such airlines as Swiss Air Lines, Iberia Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines System, Brussels Airlines and Air Leisure for the first time.
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup will take place between June 14 and July 15 at 12 stadiums across 11 cities. TheĀ 45,000-seater Samara Arena will host four group-stage matches, including the clash between hosts Russia and Uruguay on June 25, a Round of 16 fixture and a quarter-final.
