MOSCOW, June 13 (Sputnik) - Russia will be Saudi Arabia’s “hardest rival” in the World Cup group stage, Saudi Arabia head coach Juan Antonio Pizzi said on Wednesday.
Saudi Arabia and Russia will meet in the opening game of the tournament, which will kick off at 15:00 GMT on Thursday. Both teams will also face Egypt and Uruguay in Group A.
“Our hardest rival is Russia. We are currently focused on the first game, the first opponent. We are not even thinking about any other team than Russia. They will be our hardest competition at the group stage,” Pizzi told reporters.
The FIFA World Cup will be held in 11 Russian cities from June 14 to July 15.
