MOSCOW, May 30 (Sputnik) - Liverpool and Egypt star striker Mohamed Salah has undergone medical tests in Spain, which revealed that it would take the player three weeks to recover from his shoulder injury, Egyptian media reported on Wednesday.
While Salah could miss Egypt's first World Cup match against Uruguay on June 15, he should be available for the second game against hosts Russia four days later, the Egyptian website Filgoal.com reported quoting a source close to the footballer.
Salah damaged ligaments in his shoulder during the first half of Liverpool's Champions League final 3-1 defeat by Real Madrid on May 26 following a challenge from Sergio Ramos. Earlier, Egyptian Sports Minister Khaled Abdel Aziz said that the 25-year-old should recover within the next two weeks, with the player himself saying he was "confident" he would be fit for the tournament in Russia.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will take place between June 14 and July 15 at 12 stadiums across 11 Russian cities. Egypt will face hosts Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia in Group A.
