The Polish television ran almost 900 hours of matches and programs about the 2018 FIFA World Cup during this summer's tournament, Chairman of the Polish national state broadcaster TVP Jacek Kurski said on Tuesday.
"The World Cup turned out to be a huge success for the Polish television in terms of the size of the audience and profit," Kurski told journalists, adding that the broadcasts of matches and World Cup-related programs took up a total of 886 hours.
According to Kurski, Poland's opening game against Senegal, which ended 2-1 to the African side, was the most viewed of the World Cup games in the country.
Poland went on to lose 3-0 to Colombia before beating Japan 1-0 and failed to reach the knockout stage.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and came to a close on Sunday, with France defeating Croatia 4-2 in the final. The matches were played in 11 cities across Russia.
