MOSCOW, July 3 (Sputnik) - Sweden can defeat any World Cup opponent they could face, defender and captain Andreas Granqvist said on Tuesday after their 1-0 victory over Switzerland, which saw them advance to the last eight.
"We have won the group with Germany and Mexico, we have defeated Switzerland, and now we are optimistic about the quarter-finals. We’ll see what our top is. We have a good strong team that can defeat any opponent," Granqvist told reporters.
However, the defender added that no matter which team Sweden will face in the quarter-finals, the game will not be an easy one.
Sweden will play with the winner of the game between Colombia and England, which is underway at the moment. At half time, the score remains 0-0.
