MOSCOW, June 13 (Sputnik) - Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will attend the opening ceremony of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Moscow, the president’s press secretary Komil Allamjonov said Wednesday.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Luzhniki Stadium at 05:30 p.m. local time (14:30 GMT).
“President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will take part in the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup in Moscow on June 14, 2018,” Allamjonov wrote on Facebook.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Kremlin confirmed that Putin will be present at the World Cup Open ceremony, which will also be attended by a host of international leaders and high-ranking officials.
