The Socceroos were beaten 3-2 by world champions Germany in their opening match at the Confederations Cup in Sochi overnight.

Aziz Behich 4.5- Was regularly caught out on Australia’s left-hand side in the first half, as Brandt and Joshua Kimmich ran rings around him.
Mathew Leckie 6- Was forced to do a lot of defending to stop adventurous full back Jonas Hector. Worked hard, running up and down the wing, and stuck to his task.
Aaron Mooy 6.5- Made several sloppy passes in the first half but looked more comfortable in a deeper role after the break. Dictated more of the play as the match wore on.
Tom Rogic 7- Australia’s brightest spark, constantly looking dangerous when he received the ball in front of Germany’s backline. Scored the first and had a large part to play in the second.
Tomi Juric 6.5- Worked tirelessly upfront on his own. Lacked support in the first half but was more effective after the break. Was in the right place at the right time to score Australia’s second.
