So here goes our 4-4-2 formation:
GOALKEEPERĀ
Jamie Young (Brisbane Roar)
The 32-year-old is the obvious choice, having been voted the Goalkeeper of the Year. But he's worthy, keeping five clean sheets after usurping Michael Theo. He also kept Roar in numerous games with outstanding shot-stopping.
DEFENDERS

Michael Zullo (Sydney FC)
The left-back enjoyed another strong season for the premiers, offering defensive stability and an attacking threat with his tireless play down the flank. He may have missed several games due to injury, but finished with nine assists, the equal second most in the A-League.

Jordy Buijs (Sydney FC)
Tenacious central defender who helped the Sky Blues maintain their record as the stingiest A-League defence. Buijs' value goes beyond the backline, with quality over a set-piece, be it a shot or pass. He also recorded the second most passes in the competition with 1,627 and seldom turns the ball over.

Alex Wilkinson (Sydney FC)
The A-League's 'Mr Dependable' barely missed a beat all campaign, playing 27 games as the side conceded only 22 goals, keeping 12 clean sheets. Wilkinson led the Sky Blues backline with composure and voice. His aerial quality defensively shouldn't be under-estimated, either.
