The Hyundai Goals for Grass Roots motorcade touched down in Perth for round 4 where unfortunately the Glory couldn't add to the pot received by Blackwood United Football Club.
For round 4 of the âGoals for Grassrootsâ program, Perth Glory nominated the Blackwood United Football Club. Although Perth Glory unfortunately lost 3-0 in their game against Queensland Roar last Sunday afternoon the club still received a $1,000 guaranteed donation from Hyundai.
The Blackwood United Football Club caters for adults and children from the regional areas of Donnybrook to Northcliffe and Nannup to Boyup Brook. The club plans on spending the donation on further assisting the regional community to play football through more infrastructure and providing specialist equipment.
âItâs fantastic to see a company like Hyundai getting behind grassroots football in our area. The parents and children involved in the club got a huge thrill from being at the game and knowing that they are part of a bigger picture. It will give the players of our club bigger and better things to strive for,â said Steve Hawkins of the Blackwood United Football Club.
âThese kids are part of the future for football in Western Australia and the Hyundai âGoals for Grassrootsâ program is a great way to ensure that that future is being looked after,â said Eugene Dadi, key striker for Perth Glory.
