The Jets announced in January that they had signed the Perth Glory defender to a two-year contract, but the deal included a get-out clause.

The former Sydney FC left-sided defender has been in England in recent weeks where he played a practice match for Leeds United reserves which he used for fitness prior to trialing with various Championship clubs.

Two clubs are said to be showing a keen interest in signing the 23-year-old for next season and have invited him back for a longer trial later in the year.

Any such trial would likely be in the period between the end of the ACL group stage and the start of season five of the A-League.

One club is believed to have made the Socceroo an offer which he considered but opted to honour his commitment to the Jets ACL campaign.

Topor-Stanley is expected to feature in a reshaped Newcastle backline that includes new signings Ljubo Milicevic and Ange Costanzo when the Jets kicks off its ACL campaign against Joel Griffiths' Beijing Guoan at the Beijing Workers Stadium on March 10.
