It wasn't a Melbourne Derby to remember, but it did have a few telling performances: see how the players rated in Melbourne Victory's 1-1 draw with Melbourne City.
MELBOURNE CITY
Eugene Galekovic – 6
Sloppy for Barbarouses’ goal, caught at his near-post from a tight angle. Came out quickly and looked predictably alert after that.
Ritchie de Laet – 6
Moments of quality scarcely interrupted a general ineffectiveness. Didn’t press forward enough.
Scott Jamieson – 7
Composed second half performance, albeit a few wasted crosses, recycling possession and adding a little more emphasis to what can be a fairly tepid City philosophy. You always notice when Jamieson’s on the ball, put it that way.
Bart Schenkeveld – 8
Boy oh boy do they need to sort out his contract. He’s 27-years-old and at his peak, the best defender in the league. He’s not a bums-on-seats marquee, but he is a marquee.
Curtis Good - 7
You can see why Joyce continues to play Good despite a few disciplinary or injury issues, he has fantastic physical ability. Could easily be a Socceroo in the future if he stays on the park.
Rostyn Griffiths - 7
One absolute belter that every neutral was hoping would sneak inside, inspiring Brattan in the process. He played a very disciplined match after City took the lead.
Luke Brattan - 8
Typical Brattan; edgy, physical, confrontational, almost scored a wordly. It’s getting to the point where you could almost copy and paste this rating every week.
