Melbourne Victory have started their title defence with back to back home defeats as Tony Popovic enjoyed his first win with Perth Glory after an enthralling 3-2 victory at AAMI Park.
Juande – 7.5
Won the battle against his Spanish compatriot and was always an available outlet for his teammates. His hard work laid the vital groundwork for Glory's 'smash and grab' win.
Neil Kilkenny – 6
Was everywhere in the opening half but was overrun in the second period as Victory took control of the game. Allowed Roux to rise unchallenged for Victory's equaliser before being substituted.
Joel Chianese – 7.5
In the right place at the right time to open the scoring inside the opening 10 minutes. Did his defensive work without question all evening and then still had the gas in the engine late on to help steal the points.
What a start for @PerthGloryFC!

Chris Ikonomidis – 7
Promoted to the starting lineup after an impressive cameo last weekend and worked his socks off for 90 minutes without really showing too many glimpses of what he can do. Found Chianese in space to launch the counter attack in injury time and was followed up to grab the winning goal on his starting debut for the club.
Andy Keogh – 7
Led the side around the park brilliantly and showed his clinical qualities by doubling Perth's advantage. That was his 6th goal in 12 outings at AAMI Park. Withdrawn in the 77th minute.
SUBS:
Fabio Ferreira – 6
Given just over 10 minutes and wasn't largely involved.
Scott Neville – 6.5
Brought on to replace the tiring Franjic with just under 10 minutes remaining. Managed to get forward and created a great chance for Davidson to score in injury time.
Brandon Wilson – N/A
His first major involvement was celebrating the winning goal.
