CRYSTAL Palace came close to causing the biggest shock of the FA Cup fifth round this afternoon only to be denied at the death by Aston Villa.
The financially-stricken south Londoners led 2-1 with just three minutes remaining but Villa skipper Stiliyan Petrov popped up to send the tie to a replay.
Palace twice led, through Johnny Ertl and Darren Ambrose, but Champions League-chasing Villa hit back through headers from James Collins and Petrov.
Today's early tie also requires a replay after Bolton and Tottenham fought out a 1-1 draw at the Reebok Stadium.
Kevin Davies put the Trotters ahead in the first half but Jermain Defoe levelled in a second half dominated by Harry Redknapp's side.
Spurs had the chance to win it but Tom Huddlestone's penalty with 19 minutes to go was saved by Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.
Fulham had few worries in disposing of League Two side Notts County.
Simon Davies and Bobby Zamora put the home side in control at half-time and further strikes from Damien Duff and Stefano Okaka completed the rout.
