A Fernando Muslera howler sent Uruguay crashing out of the World Cup as France secured a semi-final berth for the first time since 2006 with a 2-0 win.
Clorentin Tolisso - 6.5
Glided across the middle third, picking out passes to keep possession as well as being able to use his body to win headers in midfield. An adequate replacement for the impressive Blaise Matuidi who excelled last time out but missed this match due to suspension.
Ngolo Kante - 7
A shaky first few moments as he was dispossessed by Nandez and France were on the back foot. France impressively controlled the match thanks to his efforts, closing down Uruguay's frantic attacks.
Antoine Griezman - 7
A goal and an assist for the Madrid man. A clever stutter on the free-kick delivery allowed Varane to find the space to get rid of his defender and head home the opener. A powerful swerving shot was fumbled by Muslera as he made it 2-0 to France.

Olivier Giroud - 6
Showed great strength and awareness to hold up the play and open up Uruguay on the edge of the penalty area. Did his bit to set up Mbappe for a clear-cut chance but the youngster couldn't take it.
Kylian Mbappe - 6.5
It wasn't another star studded night for the youngster as he couldn't find the wide open spaces in Uruguay's midfield as he did against Portugal. Had five successful take-ons in the first 20 minutes of the match but should have buried a chance in the 15th minute with a free header inside the box.
