The exodus at Melbourne Victory continues with the A-League club scrapping another four players from its list for next season.
Kenny Athiu, Ben Carrigan, Josh Hope and Giancarlo Gallifuoco join departing Albanian international Migjen Basha, which was announced yesterday.
New coach Grant Brebner is keen on launching a massive overhaul of the playing group, which have now played under up to four coaches over a short time period.
These losses add to Andrew Nabbout and James Donachie, who recently left to Perth Glory and Newcastle Jets respectively.
Victory have already guaranteed Brebner full financial support - the club confirming they'll spend the entire cap next season - despite the coach's lack of experience and mixed results after taking over the reigns on an interim basis.
“On behalf of everyone at Melbourne Victory, I would like to wish them all the best for the next chapter in their football careers," club GM Drew Sherman said.
“The club is currently working through building its roster for next season and we look forward to sharing updates as they become available.”
