Perth Glory could not extend their lead at the top as an equaliser in the final seconds of the match from Tarek Elrich helped Western Sydney Wanderers achieve an undeserved 1-1 draw in their final game at Spotless Stadium.
Tate Russell – 6.5
With Majok playing so far up on the left side, Russell was instructed into a far more conservative right-back position. He held his own and didn’t give his direct opponent, Jason Davidson, any chance to get past him.
Jordan O’Doherty – 6
O’Doherty was unfortunately taken off early in the game with reports suggesting he tore his anterior cruciate ligament. We hope that’s not the case and that regardless, that he makes a speedy and healthy recovery.
Keanu Baccus – 6
Retained possession well with some neat passing but never threatened a ball in the final third.
Roly Bonevacia – 5.5
Couldn’t repeat the heroics of last week and couldn’t deliver a final ball that penetrated the drilled Glory defence.
Alexander Baumjohann - 5
On his return back into the starting eleven for the Wanderers, the German was unable to influence the game as he was mostly anonymous before being taken off after the hour mark.
Bruce Kamau – 5.5
Seemed to be on a different wavelength to his team tonight. Passing for runs that his teammates weren’t making and making runs that weren’t being met by his team.
Oriol Riera – 5.5
The Spaniard looks nothing like the player that scored 15 goals last season. Devoid of confidence and did not do anything of note tonight before being hauled off in the second half.
SUBS
Rashid Mahazi – 5.5
Mahazi was brought on unexpectedly early as he had to replace O’Doherty but couldn’t shield his defence against the likes of Castro and Ikonomidis.
Mitchell Duke - 7
Came on in the 60th minute and was the only source of inspiration in a dull team. He deserves to be in the starting line-up for the next fixture.
Mark Bridge – 6
Was given a romantic substitution by Babbel after he announced his retirement early in the week but came on too late to get the equaliser.
