NEWCASTLE Jet Ruben Zadkovich believes he has something to offer his new club in the final third of the field as he fights for full fitness.
Wrist and ankle injuries have hampered the former Sydney FC man's pre-season and it is not yet clear whether he will be fit for a pre-season clash with Melbourne Heart on July 10.
There is also the question of where the versatile performer will slot into Branko Culina's team.
"In England I played in the centre of midfield. They saw me as a box-to-box midfielder who brings a lot of energy," he told the Newcastle Herald.
"There are a couple of vacant spots here in the XI, and I think I have got a lot to give going forward.
"First I have to get fit and back on the pitch."
