10. Paul Ifill (Wellington Phoenix)
The Barbados international headed to the A-League as a 29-year-old looking for a new start after an unhappy finish to life at Crystal Palace and Ifill certainly made a positive impact at Phoenix.
The Brighton-born striker was a revelation during the 2009-10 season scoring 13 goals for the Nix along with nine assists, firing the club to its first ever finals campaign and an eventual third-place finish. Ifill came in third in Johnny Warren Medal voting during that season, before an injury-interrupted 2010-11 campaign where he still managed another seven goals.
