7. Robbie Fowler (North Queensland Fury & Perth Glory)

Fowler arrived in the A-League heralded as one of the biggest names ever to play club football in Australia. However, arriving in the A-League at 34-years-young attracted some critics, but theĀ  Liverpool legend showed pace may go with age, but class doesn't.

In fact, Fowler dazzled during his early days at Fury, scoring Goals of the Week in rounds four, five and six. Fowler contributed nine goals for North Queensland in 2009-10, but the side struggled and he was forced to play in midfield. The Englishman then moved to Perth, where his side battled on the pitch again, although Fowler netted nine times including a memorable hat-trick against Melbourne Victory.
