FOLLOWING on from the departure of 2010-11 A-League Foreign Player of the Year Marcos Flores to China, au.fourfourtwo.com decided to compile a list of the top 10 imports to play in the A-League.
4. Marcos Flores (Adelaide United)
The Argentinean leaves the Reds this week for China, after joining the club in late 2009. However, he won't be forgotten quickly after a sensational - albeit short - stint with the club.
Flores, who only made 31 A-League appearances, dazzled during the 2010-11 campaign, deservedly winning the Johnny Warren Medal after a sensational term where he scored eight goals and provided eight assists. The Argentinean was also named the 2010-11 A-League Foreign Player of the Year and was included in the 2010-11 A-League Team of the Year.
More than the awards, though, A-League fans will fondly remember some of Flores' highlights, including his magical volley at North Queensland or his wonderful goal against Newcastle when he beat a host of defenders, or perhaps even his outstanding piece of skill down the wing at Melbourne Heart. To add to the package, Flores was also an affable person who played with a smile on his face.
